Why this price match scheme isn’t worth the VIP card it is printed on
One of us has just been to the travel agents to buy some foreign currency.
The conversation went something like this;
“What rate do you have for (foreign currency) please, I want £100 cash worth ?”
“That’s 2.20 today - have you been quoted any other rates ?”
“No - I just called in off the street”
“Right, well we have a rate match scheme - if you are quoted a cheaper rate, we will match it”
(Thinks) - That’s very good but if I am quoted a cheaper rate somewhere else - why would I come back here to get THE SAME rate ?

With so many people away from the workplace at this time of year, scammers are sending
fake invoices for goods and services that have never been supplied.
These typically include “ongoing subscriptions”, periodic payments and ongoing service or repeat maintenance charges.
They are hoping that with normal service being interrupted by usual signatories being on
holiday that the invoice will be paid with lesser levels of financial control than usual in your organisation.
The layout of the invoice is likely to be amateur looking with contact details being just a PO Box number and/or a local rate (non geographic) phone number.
Many of these scams don’t originate in the UK and may have been written by someone who doesn’t speak english as a first language so the standard of spelling and grammer is likely to be poor
