3 reasons why you don’t want to ban ‘facebook’

The Daily Telegraph recently reported that large numbers of firms were banning facebook the online “social networking” site. A lot depends on the type and nature of your business but here are three things to take into account.

    Reason 1. All websites can be monitored and users leave their “footprints” behind wherever they go. If you ban facebook, they are likely to revert to more “traditional” ways of covertly keeping in touch such as texting. (which you can’t track)
    Reason 2.
    If you don’t have an internet & email acceptable use policy, then it probably isn’t against the rules in your workplace. “No-one told me I couldn’t sit messing about online instead of working”
    Reason 3.
    It is or can be a useful online presence for your business. If your target market matches facebooks user profile then you have a ready route to go…
